The most famous pilgrimage site in Prague and all of Bohemia is the Church of Our Lady Victorious. This Early Baroque church is situated on Karmelitská street in Malá Strana (the Lesser Quarter).
The figure of the Holy Infant, world-famous as the Bambini di Praga, is the main attraction for visitors. It has been enshrined on the right-hand altar since 1628. The Renaissance wax effigy comes from Spain. Polyxena of Lobkowicz presented it to the Carmelites.
The coronation of the Holy Infant took place in the church in 1655.
The effigy is enshrined in a silver case and its wardrobe contains many precious embroidered and decorated coats of various colors. Austrian Empress Maria Theresa embroidered some of them.
