Location: Českomoravská Highlands, not far from towns Chrudim and Havlíčkův Brod.
The massif of the Železné Mountains is seen as a rolling landscape gradually sloping from the Hlinec hills, Pešava and Hradiště, accompanied by the ribbon of the Chrudimka River. In the north, the area widens, whereas in the south it falls sharply to the floodplain of the Doubrava River. The varied landscape is coordinated into a harmonious whole.
In the area around here we can find the nature reservations of Údolí Doubravy, Zlatá louka and Mokřadlo, as well as many natural forest ecosystems. Along the course of the Chrudimka River, we can find a dominance of forest ecosystems, remnants of flower meadows and river floodplains.
The territory has maintained a scattered settlement structure with the remains of folk architecture and a wealth of greenery.
Its position and proximity to large cities along with its varied countryside make it attractive for recreational use. In recent years, cycling and walking opportunities have become well-developed here.
