A great international marathon which takes place every year during the first half of May in the streets of Prague
(map). Traditionally very well organised the race atmosphere attracts a whole number of leading world athletes with imposing names and thousands of visitors to the Czech Republic every year.
This athletic race, held since 1961 at the Municipal Stadium at
Ostrava – Vítkovice0, is classified in the prestigious IAAD Super Grand Prix category. A number of sportspeople have managed to beat the world record here. The last of these was the Ethiopian endurance runner Haile Gebrselassie in 2007 during the 20 km marathon and the hour-long race.
An international athletic competition held in honour of the tragically deceased Josef Odložil. The site of the race, which offers an attractive view for spectators, is the stadium on

Traditionally the

A social and sporting event with the longest tradition in this country and also the oldest and most difficult race on the continent. It was held for the first time in
