The most favourable accommodation for young people and students who come and visit the Czech Republic is university residences and hostels.

Universities and colleges offer accommodation all year round. However, in the summer months the offer is considerably better as the original "inhabitants" travel home. Information about summer accommodation at university campuses and student residences is offered directly on the university websites. You can find a list of them here.

The most significant Czech university – Charles University – operates its special website with a summer accommodation offer and reservation system. Free accommodation capacity is offered by Masaryk University in Brno or by the Czech Technical University in Prague.  The prices begin at CZK 80 per person per night.

In addition, there is a specialised server Kolej.cz, which helps students to find cheap accommodation, a room-mate, a flat to share, or a student residence to exchange. Both students and providers of accommodation may advertise for free.

During the summer, students not only travel and relax but a lot of them search for a job to earn some money, too. The best offers are usually found directly in university buildings and residences, whose information boards are, especially before the end of the spring semester, full of part-time job offers. Students without access to the information boards can go to websites, of course.

It seems to be very useful to visit the website vejska.cz where part-time job offers are directed from leading Czech portals dealing with information about job opportunities suitable especially for students. It is convenient that you just click and the page is translated into English or German.
