Prague can boast yet another primacy. This time, the city gained the first place in the architectonic competition MIPIM Awards, in which the building Main Point Karlín (map) in Prague won the category Best Office and Business Development for 2011.The design of the whole complex is the work of the Prague architectonic studio DaM. The building was finished in July 2011.

The MIPIM Awards annually take place in the French city of Cannes within the greatest fair of real estate and investment opportunities in Europe. The building Main Point Karlín competed with a hundred of designs from 47 world countries.

The ten-storey Main Point Karlín is a modern environment-friendly administrative building with the total office area of 22 thousand sq m equipped with highest quality technology. The most distinct architectonic features are the façade pillars that are used as sun-breaks, as well as the cooling system of the building, using the river water.

Great emphasis has been put on the quality of the inner environment during the construction of Main Point Karlín. The building offers offices with abundance of light while noiseless induction units provide a sophisticated ventilation system. The garden on the roof of the building offers a resting area for the employees.

However, the Best Office and Business Development is not the only award that the building Main Point Karlín gained. In 2011, it was awarded in the European competition of real estate called the International Property Awards organised in cooperation with Google, The New York Times and Bloomberg Television.
