A colourful show of unique abilities, creativity and novel ideas. These few words describe the next annual Bohemian Carnevale project, which will take place in Prague on 26 February to 8 March 2011.

The Bohemian Carnevale builds upon the tradition of Carnival in Bohemia and takes place every year in many locations in the centre of Prague – in public areas, palaces, museums, galleries, theatres, schools, workshops, and even in some restaurants and shops. In this programme, visitors can look forward to a masquerade procession through the historic centre, a boat trip in masks on the Vltava River through the area called Prague Venice, and a great Baroque ball, the Crystal Ball, right in the beautiful Clam-Gallas Palace (map). Children will also enjoy themselves. Many theatre attractions have been prepared for them along with a best children’s carnival mask contest.

Partner restaurants will serve a special Carnevale menu during the Cuisine d'Alchimiste gastronomic block, which is part of the festival.

A special information centre will be open during the Bohemian Carnevale in the Colloredo-Mannsfeld Palace on Karlova Street (map). You can find more information and a complete programme of the festival here.
