Golf is a very popular sport in the Czech Republic, which is obvious from the number of golf courses compared to the total area of the country. There are already 87 golf courses found in this not very large country and, in a short time, there will be even more. Thus golf lovers have a variety of opportunities to practice.

Golf in the Czech Republic has been played for over 100 years, and the recent development seems to be obvious. This is the reason why the Czech Republic is now considered a "golf country". You can play golf at an urban course, in the natural environment or perhaps in a castle or spa park. Golf courses and golf centres offer comfort and relaxation and comply with most demanding requirements. You can find an overview of golf courses in the Czech Republic and their description here.

Golf news in 2011

This year golf players may enjoy newly established golf courses which were opened last year. In addition, there are numerous modernised, previously operated courses. In November 2010, for example, the Black Bridge Golf Resort was opened in Prague and full operation will be commenced mid year. Moreover, the Slapy Svatý Jan Golf Park near Slapy reservoir will open the second half of the 18 hole course.

Within the support provided to golf tourism in the Czech Republic, in collaboration with CzechTourism, a special project 1 fee for 2 players has begun. Vouchers for this green fee advantage may be used at 39 Czech courses until 31 December 2011. For the full list of golf courses and more detailed information go to www.1fee2golfers.eu.
