During the period from 28 July until 1 August 2010 an international meeting of Mensa members – European Mensa Annual Gathering (EMAG) will take place in Prague for the third time ever. Mensa members are already preparing a varied programme for participants, which will include education and also elements of entertainment and culture.
Apart from specialist lectures on the topic of CERN (European Organisation for Nuclear Research, which successfully simulated the Big Bang during the birth of a universe in its enormous particle accelerator at the end of March) for instance, the successes of Czech scientists during archaeological research in Egypt or during documentation of the total eclipse of the sun in Mongolia, will also be mentioned.
However, participants of EMAG 2010 will not be forced to simply sit in lecture halls – interesting X2 excursions X2 and games have also been prepared for them including the world football championships and also the world championships in an old Czech game – marbles. Parties interested in doing so will also be able to learn the Czech polka.
The meeting, which is being organised by Mensa CZ, will culminate with a gala evening in Prague Mánes with a concert by Mensa members.
