The European Union has prepared a new activity for children. They can now learn new information about their foreign friends, themselves and especially the EU and life within it by means of the new Kids’ Corner website.

The aim of the website, which is available in 22 language versions, is to educate children and youth about the functioning and organisation of the European Union by playing games. Pupils will thus have a chance to better understand the decisions of the EU that influence their everyday life. It is the first time that the European Union has dedicated such a project solely to children. They can play simple games or answer questions in various quizzes. The whole concept of the web page is accustomed to children’s interests in order to be as attractive as possible to them.

Schoolchildren can choose from three different sections full of useful information – “Check out your rights”, “The EU: what’s it all about?” and “EU Games and Quizzes” where they can check how much they have remembered about the European Union. Due to the fact that the website and all the games and quizzes exist in more than twenty language versions, it can also be a useful tool for practicing foreign languages. The counterpart of the Kid’s Corner website is the Teachers’ Corner site that contains didactic material for teaching European integration.
