Golf Novelties in 2012

Golf belongs among the three most popular sports in the world. It is actively played by more than 70 million players in more than 120 countries across the globe. In the Czech Republic, golf has been played for more than 100 years and the quality of local courses is very high.

The Czech Republic offers perfect golf conditions even for the most demanding players. There are currently 93 standardised golf courses in total and the majority of them are accessible to the public. You can find a list of golf courses throughout the Czech Republic with a detailed description here.

The year 2012 has various novelties and bonuses for players at most golf resorts. The courses promote coming events individually on their web pages. One of the biggest attractions of this year is definitely the special 1 fee for 2 players project, which aims to support golf tourism in the CR. Golfers can buy special vouchers which enable them to play for reduced prices at 41 golf courses in the CR. The vouchers’ expiration date is at the end of 2012. You can find a list of the courses and other information about the project at www.1fee2golfers.eu.

Golfers also have a chance to play at newly built or extended courses this year. Last year, several new golf courses were built such as Černý Most (map), Bítozeves (map), Hukvaldy (map), Búřov (map) and Předboj (map), Slapy (map) (extended to 18 holes) and Kravaře (map). In 2012 the re-standardisation of existing golf courses will continue to take place and some academies will be standardised as well, especially those for players with club handicaps. A new golf course should be added to the map of the Czech Republic Lipiny near Karviná (map).

More information about Czech golf is available here.
