Bolek Polívka (*1949)

A Czech actor, mime, dramatist and screen writer, impersonator of many theatre, film and television roles.
He won the Český lev prize and the performance prize at the Karlovy Vary Film Festival in 1997 for his role of pastor Holý in the film Zapomenuté světlo (The Forgotten Light). He won his second Český lev prize for his role in the film Musíme si pomáhat (We Shall Help One Another). The film also received an Oscar nomination.
He founded his own Bolek Polívka’s Theatre in Brno in 1993. He lives on his farm in Olšany, near Brno, where he often holds happenings and recession events. He was married to the French actress Chantal Poullain for years. His daughter Anna Polívková is also an actress.
