Čech is a football goalkeeper whose first success was his
participation in the under 21s World Championships in 2001. A year later he helped the under-21 Czech national team to win
the European Championshps. After this, he gave exceptional performances
for the Czech national team and participated in the excellent result gained by
the Czech Republic
in Euro 2004 in Portugal
where the Czech team finished third.
So far, the best year of his career came in 2004/05 when Čech
helped Chelsea to win the English Premiership
title, while also being named Footballer of the Year in the Czech Republic and being voted Best
Goaltender in the Champions League.
At the moment, he is active as the No.
1 goalkeeper at the English club , Chelsea.
