Seven means a magical number for many people, but for the Škoda manufacturer it will be just another number within the model lines. Yes, at the end of November 2011, the seventh model line was launched by the largest automobile producer in the CR.
The Škoda
Citigo debuted on the domestic Czech market in late autumn 2011 and it will be available for the rest of Europe in the early summer of 2012. The new car is now offered as a three-door, with a five-door version to come in 2012. With the Citigo, Škoda has entered the small vehicle segment, which currently occupies some 10% of the market and growing worldwide.
Despite the small size, the compact Citigo offers ample interior space. It is designed mainly for city traffic but due to the maximum utilisation of space, four persons can travel comfortably elsewhere. And there is no need to reduce the luggage, either. None of the competitors, except for concern relatives, would offer a larger luggage compartment than the 251 litres in the Citigo.
A small car does not mean less safety, not at all. For the first time in a Škoda vehicle, the designers have used side airbags to protect the heads of both the driver and the front seat passenger. Active safety is significantly enhanced by the new brake assistant system. Depending on the speed and the traffic situation, the emergency braking functionality can reduce the severity of the potential collision or even prevent it.
