The Golden Prague International Television Festival, this year also called “The World of Music and Dance is Within Your Reach” is a prestigious festival presenting the best world TV music and dance performances and films in all music genres – classical music as well as jazz, rock and world music.

The first Golden Prague International Television Festival took place in 1964. Since then, it has become a great and inspiring opportunity to meet for art creators and producers, for professionals in the branch of art as well as for the wider public. The best music and dance performances of the year are presented for several days. At present, the Golden Prague Festival is the only festival focused on music and dance shows and films.

This year the 49th festival takes place between 13 and 17 October at Žofín (Map) Palace in Prague. The Golden Prague ITF, along with the Prix Italia and Rose d´Or, counts among the oldest television festivals in Europe. From the very beginning, it has been organised by Czech Television.

During the previous years, a number of outstanding world music directors and choreographers have visited the festival and presented the best of their artistic creations – for example, H. Burton, P. Weigl, B. Large, Ch. Bruce, B. Gavin, N. Duato, H. Hulscher, J. Kylián, M. Ek and many others.

More detailed information about the festival and the festival programme can be found here.
