A dancer and photographer who was engaged by the National Theater in Prague having just graduated from the Prague dance conservatory. After triumphs at a number of international ballet competitions (second prize in Brno in 1987, finalist in the Bulgarian city of Varna, a Paris Dance Foundation at Prix de Lausanne, first place in Tokyo in 1989, finalist in Osaka in 1991 and winner in Pretoria in 1991), she accepted an engagement at the Kruik Ballet in Cape Town in the South Africa.
In the years 1993-96, she worked as a soloist at the Scottish Ballet in Glasgow. She has danced at the English National Ballet since 1996, where she was appointed first soloist in 1999.
In particular, she plays leading roles from the classical repertoire (Swan Lake, La Sylphide, The Nutcracker, Giselle, etc.). Her performances are valued for their technical perfection, mature appreciation of the roles, and their feminine grace. She has also worked in modern repertoire: in choreographies by Glen Tetley, Mark Baldwin, Christopher Hampson, and Jiří Kylián . She is an interpreter of works by George Balanchine. In 1993, she gave a guest performance in Sphinx (choreography by Glen Tetley).
Besides dance, she has successfully pursued photography. In 2001, she became a finalist in a photographic competition organized by Channel 4 and has exhibited at the Photographers’ Gallery in London. She has published a calendar of dance photography and has regularly photographed the English National Ballet.
